AUTODESK RESIDENCY - XIX NINETEEN JEWELRY
Slicelab was part of the 2015 Autodesk Residency Program at Pier 9. The focus was mainly on pushing the limits of the 3D printing capabilities within the Jewelry making process using the Autodesk Ember 3D Printer. During that period, 4 jewelry collections were developed that were inspired by the suspended weightlessness of delicate marine life. The printed designs were directly used as investments for the traditional lost wax casting. NINETEEN XIX was created as an innovative brand of unique, sculptural jewelry that fuses an organic aesthetic with today's top 3D printing processes. XIX uses the highest caliber of precious metals and technology through an evolved approach to contemporary design and wearable objects.
The Nexus Collection is XIX's breakthrough series of earrings, necklaces, rings, and bracelets inspired by a complex set of precise yet unpredictable lines found in the natural world. Paying homage to these organic elements, XIX simultaneously surpasses them. By designing intricately detailed structures that can only be realized through creative digital innovation, XIX yields unprecedented achievements in jewelry design.
