3D PRINTED & CAST BRASS HANDRAIL

Collaboration with DigifabShop

Custom fabrication consulting on a uniquely shaped railing profile for a New York City brownstone residence. The original rail design from the local architect was not able to be fabricated as designed. Adjustments in geometry developed through the process of testing different forms of 3D printing directly into the metal. Ultimately the profile shape was achieved by creating two parts that interlocked and were realized using robotically 3D printed sand molds for these cast bronze curved pieces of the rail.

This project is currently under construction in Brooklyn, NY.
